Daz Furey

Daz’s enduring love affair with techno began in London in 1990-91 listening to the likes of Brenda Russell, Colin Favor and Colin Dale on Kiss FM. He discovered club night Eurobeat 2000 at the Regents Palace hotel and fell in love with tracks like “Sprung Aus Den and Woken” by DJ Hell and “Alkaline 3dh” by Fly by Wire (AKA Dave Clarke). Around the same time Daz began tweaking analogue synths as well as DJing. He didn’t pull his finger out and learn production properly until 2006-7 and went to school to learn about Logic Pro.

Having already garnered platitudes such as “One to watch” from M8 magazine in 2007 for the techno on his Myspace page, He moved to Buenos Aires in 2009 where he started putting music on Soundcloud and started an online radio show on Fnoob.com. His music drew positive responses from techno stalwarts and Daz had his first release on Vegim’s TMM records in 2010. This was followed by releases and remixes on Foot Fetish Records, Gynoid Audio, Plastiq, Audio Donor records, Echodeluxe Recordings, 909 London, Viral Outbreak Digital, Hypnohouse trax, Citywall records and BWLR.

Daz is probably most well known for being the founder of Fnoob Techno Radio, the successful offshoot of Fnoob.com Radio, where he has maintained his EL EXILIO techno broadcast since 2009. He currently lives in North London with his long-suffering wife Caro, curious son Kian and techno loving cat Pupi.
